Legalization
List of the countries requiring neither apostille, nor legalization (as per educational documents). Legalization is a special procedure of document translation and drawing up, in the order they were of legal force abroad. The procedure is rather complicated and time-consuming. This legalization is performed as follows:
- Translation of the documents.
- Notarial attestation of the translation correctness.
- Registration in the Department of Justice (official period of registration: from seven working days).
- Registration in the Consular Service Department of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (period of registration: from seven working days).
- Registration in the Consulate of the country where the documents are to be submitted (the deadlines and prices are determined by the Consulate in each case separately).
Please be advised that it is up to the customer to register the documents in the Consulate.
Apostille
Apostillization is the drawing up of official documents prepared for submission in countries — members of the Hague Convention from 05.10.1961. The procedure includes attestation of signature authenticity, the capacity of the person who signed the document and, in some cases, the authenticity of the seal or stamp on the document.
Apostille is a special stamp, which, according to the Hague Convention, cancels the need for legalization of foreign official documents, and is put on the official documents issued by the bodies and officials of Russian Federation including, in addition to others, the documents issued by the bodies of Public Prosecutor, administrative and judicial authorities, notary acts. Apostillization of an official document does not require further attestation or legalization of such document for the purposes of its acknowledgement in the territory of another country — a member of the Convention. When giving us documents for legalization and apostillization, please take care to ensure the correctness of the content and drawing up of documents. The “MTA” agency bears no liability for icorrect drawing up of the original documents.
